The debugging feature mentioned above was a treat. It had a very familiar feel to Sublime and Atom. I spent a week using the editor, and in general, I was pretty content.

Sublime Text is probably one of the most famous text editors available for Mac and for all the right reasons. Although VSCode is built in a similar fashion to Atom, using Electron, Node, and HTML/CSS, it is actually much faster without any real lags. The software brings a ton of features including syntax highlighting and folding, a high level of customizability, easy to navigate interface, multiple selections, powerful API and package ecosystem, and more. Probably the only drawback of Sublime Text 3 is its cost. Just like any well developed Mac software, Sublime Text 3 boasts of a premium price. Working with Visual Studio Code for a few days made me realize how awesome an editor can be. I am frustrated with Sublime Text’s lack of innovation. That was the inspiration for this comparison.
That said, since a text editor is going to be the foundation for your future work, investing up front in a good text editor is not a bad thing. It’s good to periodically assess the features of an editor that you really depend on. If money is no concern for you, definitely check this out.Ītom is also highly customizable. If you want, you can change almost everything about it.
